Baltimore Ravens scores partnership with Horseshoe Casino

Baltimore Ravens becomes the second NFL team ever to partner with a casino.

The Baltimore Ravens are the second NFL team ever to partner with a casino.

On Friday, the team announced a sponsorship deal with Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. The brand is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment - making this the first ever NFL team to be sponsored by a Caesar's Entertainment establishment.

As part of the deal, the casino will be able to use the Baltimore Ravens branding in on-site promotions and logos. Horseshoe Casino's three-level bar known as 14Forty, will become a branded bar after the NFL team.

In September, the NFL finally allowed teams to seek sponsorship from casinos after the historical abolishment of PASPA. This was after several weeks of rumors and behind the scenes talks.

Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales and Business at Baltimore Ravens Kevin Rochlitz said:

We’re enthused about this partnership and believe it will further enrich the entertainment appeal surrounding M&T Bank Stadium. Additionally, we feel it will help contribute to the exciting development taking place throughout the area.

Mr. Rochlitz also commented on how the casino had become a popular destination for Raven fans.

Caesars Regional President and Horseshoe Casino General Manager Erin Chamberlin was visibly pleased with the partnership, stating:

We are two strong Baltimore brands that are committed to the city and the region. We both offer a unique entertainment product with broad and complementary appeal.

In September of this year, the Dallas Cowboys made history when they became the first ever NFL team to be sponsored by a casino. Winstar World Casino signed up for a season-long deal which allows the casino to use the Cowboys branding in promos.

The throwing out of PASPA earlier in the year has opened many doors for American sports betting in the country. And while states like New Jersey are embracing the relaxed laws, some fear that new, restrictive legislation could be on the way soon.
